When to Use a PDF Signature Tool
Adding a signature to a PDF can be helpful for everyday document tasks, including:
Signing forms and application documents.
Adding a signature to letters and business documents.
Signing assignments and other digital paperwork.
Placing a signature on a selected page of a PDF.
Preparing documents to share electronically.
Avoiding the need to print a document just to add a visible signature.
Always check the recipient’s requirements before using an electronic signature for official or legal documents.
How the PDF Signer Works
The tool uses PDF.js to display the selected PDF page and PDF-lib to insert the signature image into the document. Your signature is added to the chosen page, and the updated PDF is generated for download.
The tool places a visual signature image on the PDF. It does not create a certificate-based digital signature or independently verify the identity of the signer. A visible signature image may not meet the requirements of every organization or electronic-signature process.
Privacy and File Security
The tool’s code processes the selected PDF in your browser and does not include an upload to a dedicated PDF-processing server. However, PDF.js and PDF-lib are loaded from external CDNs, so an internet connection is required to load these libraries.
For confidential documents, use a trusted browser and device. Avoid signing sensitive files on shared or public computers.
Sign PDF Documents Easily
The PDF Signer provides a straightforward way to draw or type a signature, position it on a PDF page, and download the updated document. Whether you need to sign a form, letter, or other digital document, you can complete the process in a few simple steps.
